What’s new for 2026

What you need to know

See what’s changing for 2026, including expanded preventive screenings, changes to the UnitedHealthcare (UHC) medical plans, higher Health Savings Account (HSA) and flexible spending account (FSA) contribution limits, and changes to the Make a Family program.

Medical plan changes

Expanded preventive screenings for breast cancer

All Autodesk medical plans are expanding their preventive breast cancer screenings to include MRIs and ultrasounds. Keep in mind that preventive breast cancer screenings under the Autodesk medical plans continue to be available with no minimum-age requirement.

Changes to the UnitedHealthcare (UHC) plans

Doula coverage now included

Expenses you pay for a certified doula to support you before, during, and after childbirth can be reimbursed up to $2,500 per pregnancy. You’ll need to provide proof of the doula’s professional certification when submitting a claim to UHC for reimbursement. Doula expenses must be incurred on or after January 1, 2026.

Remember, Autodesk partners with Cleo to provide a wide range of maternity and postpartum support services, along with referral services for doulas, lactation coaches, child care providers, and more. If you use a doula who was referred to you by Cleo, that referral is the only certification UHC will need to process your claim.

Expanded definition of infertility

Infertility treatments are now available to all members who require medical intervention to achieve a successful pregnancy, irrespective of their relationship status or sexual orientation. Full details, including any applicable restrictions, can be found in the 2025 Summary Plan Description for your plan.

Note: The medical plan changes noted above do not apply to the UHC Hawaii PPO plan.

HSA and FSA contribution limits

Contribute even more to your Health Savings Account (HSA)

The IRS has increased the HSA contribution limits for 2026. That means you can contribute up to $4,400 if you’re enrolled in individual coverage and up to $8,750 if you’re enrolled in family coverage. If you’re 55 or older, you can throw in an additional $1,000. Keep in mind that these limits include any amounts that Autodesk contributes on your behalf.

Flexible spending account (FSA) contribution limits

For 2026, the IRS has increased the health care FSA contribution limit to $3,400, while the carryover limit has increased to $680. The limit for the dependent care FSA is increasing to $7,500 for 2026.

401(k) contribution limits

The IRS has increased the 401(k) plan contribution limits for 2026. The limit for pretax or Roth contributions is $24,500. You can contribute an additional $8,000 if you'll be age 50 or older by the end of the calendar year, for a total of $32,500. If you'll be age 60–63 by the end of the calendar year, you’re eligible to contribute an additional $11,250, for a total of $35,750.

Changes to the Make a Family program

The Make a Family program will continue to provide reimbursement for eligible surrogacy- and adoption-related expenses, as well as egg or embryo freezing fees and donor fees. It will also cover expenses related to elective fertility preservation. Services eligible for coverage under a UHC medical plan are no longer eligible under the Make a Family program, even if you are not enrolled in a UHC medical plan.

Employee contributions (per-pay-period deduction amounts)

Due to continually rising health care costs, along with several other factors, most per-paycheck deductions are increasing for 2026. See how the 2026 rates compare with the 2025 rates.
